Download Sin: Gold PC Game 1998
SiN is a first-person shooter video game developed by Ritual Entertainment and published by Activision in 1998. It uses a modified version of the Quake II engine. SiN is set in the dystopian future of 2037, where John Blade, a commander in a security force named HardCorps in the megacity of Freeport, is tasked to rid the city of a recreational drug that may be tied to the rival biotechnology megacorporation, SinTek.

The game demo was found to have a CIH virus infection in one of its mirror links. Activision had advised players only to download the game demo from their website.[7] Due to the amount of patches which made the game more CPU-intensive, primary Amiga developer and later AmigaOS developer Hyperion Entertainment had to eventually cancel the AmigaOS version due to the lack of hardware at the time.
One common complaint was the long load times, which measured in the minutes between each level, death, or quickload.[26] With later patches, the long load times were greatly shortened, although compatibility with old save games was lost, forcing players to play through the game from the beginning or use cheats to progress to their previous point in the game. Another major concern was the abundance of bugs and glitches littered throughout the game. Some of the more widely reported bugs include a total lack of sound in the game, an end of chapter boss which couldn't move, a level on one path through the game not being finishable and general game crashes. Although these bugs were quickly patched up, the damage of the negative publicity had already been done, especially with the majority of the press reviewing the unpatched version. The patch was exceptionally large; at the time it was normal to expect a game patch file to be up to 5 MB in size, whereas SiN's first patch was over 31 MB. This was at a time when a substantial fraction of internet access was via dial-up, causing Activision to take the unusual step of offering to send CDs containing the patch to any owners of the game who did not have sufficient bandwidth to download it from the Internet. A likely explanation for the multitude of bugs is that the game may have been rushed to meet the 1998 Christmas season, possibly as an attempt to beat Half-Life to market.[27]
Mark Asher of CNET Gamecenter wrote, "Sin had a good first month, but then tailed off sharply."[citation needed] Combined with the failure of competitors Shogo: Mobile Armor Division and Blood II: The Chosen, its performance led him to speculate that the first-person shooter genre's market size was smaller than commonly believed, as the "only FPS game that has done really well [over the Christmas 1998 period] is Half-Life".[28][failed verification] However, BBC News' Alfred Hermida reported that the game had achieved "decent success" over the holiday shopping season, and wrote that he expected a sequel to emerge as a result.[27]

The game was released a month before the critically acclaimed Half-Life, causing it to be heavily overshadowed with low amounts of sales. The game demo was found to have a CIH virus infection in one of its mirror links. Activision has advised players only to download the game demo from their website.
Common negative feedback included long loading times, which could last up to several minutes. Another major concern was the abundance of bugs and glitches littered throughout the game. Some of the more widely reported bugs include a total lack of sound in the game, an end of chapter boss which couldn't move, a level on one path through the game not being completable and general game crashes. Although these bugs were quickly patched up, the damage of the negative publicity had already been done, especially with the majority of the press reviewing the unpatched version. A likely explanation for the multitude of bugs is that the game may have been rushed to meet the 1998 Christmas season, possibly as an attempt to beat Half-Life to market. These shortcomings, coupled with the great success of Half-Life, resulted in SiN not achieving as much success as the developers had hoped, although it did attain a moderate amount of sales during the 1998 Christmas period.
Ugly: Graphical oddities. In what is a very rare occurance, I was unable to snap screenshots using any of the 3 methods I have used through the years. The best I could get was completely black screens at full resolution. It is yet another way the game feels more like a 1996 game than a late 1998 release.

There's one last problem that really dropped Sin's finally score, and that's its unforgivable bugginess out of the box. In addition to all sorts of video card conflicts, Sin also has a load screen that takes FOREVER. Activision did send us a beta of patch that will be released later, but the patch is over 10 megs, quite a download for someone using a modem. It seems to me that Activision was trying so hard to get this product out the door before Half-Life that they didn't do the game justice and released it without making sure that it was everything it could be. In doing so, they placed even more distance between the quality levels of their game and Valve's new blockbuster. Who'd have thought you'd get such irony from the videogames business?
SiN suffered as a result of two different decisions made in its development. Originally scheduled for release in spring of 1998 and built on the original Quake engine, SiN was reworked and redeveloped for the Quake II engine around four months before its planned original release. That, combined with a rush to get it to market before Half-Life led to game-breaking bugs which hurt its initial launch. It would, however, be patched, boosted and supported for the twenty years, from the expansion (Wages of SiN), to an episodic sequel (Emergence), to an anime (SiN: The Movie), and then re-released for digital distribution (SiN Gold) along with an impending remaster, ensuring SiN remains living whether it deserves to or not.
But all this seems practically pointless in light of Sin's bugs. Sure, multiplayer Sin works fine out of the box, but single-player loading times are unacceptable to the point where you'll have plenty of time to wonder if it's worth the trouble. Sin isn't easy, and dying in it starts to feel like a fate worse than death, what with two-minute load times as a consequence of every fatal mistake. And the problems don't stop there. The game's incompatible with certain popular sound cards, not to mention the first boss who stands perfectly still as you shoot him. Certainly, there will be a patch to address these problems. But no one wants a game that doesn't work well out of the box, and it isn't fair to force a customer to download a multimegabyte patch just to justify the purchase (the beta version of the patch is more than 10MB). Activision should be shipping the patch to every registered customer, complete with a rebate and personalized apology. But fat chance that's going to happen. So, for the time being, if you're looking for the best stand-in for Quake this year, you'll find it worth your while to shrug off the bugs.

Wario Land II is a game by Nintendo that was released in Western regions for the Game Boy in March 1998. This is the second installment of the Wario Land series (third counting Virtual Boy Wario Land). It is a 2D platformer starring Wario, the greedy treasure hunter, who was also the protagonist of the series' first game Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3.
While the game was originally released as a Super Game Boy-enhanced title outside of Japan, a version adding Game Boy Color support was released in Japan seven months later as one of the October 1998 launch titles, featuring colored sprites and backgrounds. This version came out later in Western regions as well. It was also rereleased for the Nintendo 3DS's Virtual Console in 2012. A successor to the game, Wario Land 3, was produced and released in 2000, which adapted most of this game's gameplay mechanics. 041b061a72
