After returning to the present, Wolverine traveled to Hawaii to rescue some mutants who were being attacked by a group of Atlanteans. By using Havok's teleportation ability, he was able to save the mutants, but the Atlanteans attacked Havok and nearly killed him. When Alex came to his aid, Logan teleported Havok to the X-Mansion and then teleported himself to the future to stop the Sentinels from killing Havok and Cyclops. He returned to the future, teleported to the island, and found the time-displaced X-Men, who were successful in stopping the Sentinels. Still in the future, Logan found the X-Mansion and a wounded Alex, to whom he quickly did a blood transfusion to save him. However, he learned that Cyclops and Havok had been killed by the future Sentinels who they were trying to destroy at this time. Logan, not being happy about Havok's death, told Alex that he would return the favor someday. He gave Alex some anti-mutant serum to continue his curing process, although the serum was a reminder of his own distant past and the future of the mutant race.
